About our cause
Hungerford Youth and Community provides a much loved and valued service for the community.
The Centre has hosted the town’s Youth Club since 1970. Today it is home to a large variety of community groups and societies for all ages from toddling through to retiring.
Hungerford Youth Clubs offer young people their own space in which they can catch up with friends, play table tennis, table football or video games together. As well as with Young Adult Leaders and Youth Leaders. The emphasis is on taking part in sporting activities and getting away from the mobile phone/tablet! The Centre includes an outdoor court which is made available for each session. There is also a chill out room upstairs and a café bar, providing a safe and cosy space for young people to catch up with their friends.
Our Youth groups for Years 5 and 6 on alternative weeks and years 7 and 8 are very popular with a wide range of activities available.
Our popular holiday club runs during the school holidays and there is a wide range of activities and oppertunities to young people. Places are offered for free or at a subsidised rate.
#ICE one of our groups was started by local parents and now run by the youth centre, with the aim to provide a youth group for children between Yr6 and Yr11 with special educational needs and disabilities in Hungerford. The group supports children to be Independent, Confident and Empowered.
Our Home Educated group runs on a Tuesday lunchtime and is open to secondary school aged young people.
Youth Club Days Away, are trips run by our Youth worker Dion from the youth centre for a range of age groups at a subsidised cost. these trips are great for socialising and a change to visit places and take part in activities that otherwise may not have been available to some of our young people.
We need your help so we can continue to offer and expand our services!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
The HYCC Team
